The reviewers have stated their verdict. Your paper is almost ready for publication. You have to make some revisions and respond to the reviewers’ concerns. However, this last leg of the publication process has taken hours of your time and you still are unsure of the tone and relevance of your responses. You do not even know who to ask for assistance before the deadline expires.
Getting published is rarely a one-step process. Only a few of articles are accepted by peer-reviewed journals without revisions in detailed. Given this, it is important that you correctly interpret reviewer comments and clearly communicate the changes in your response to reviewer comments and resubmit a cover letter to the journal editor(s).
